Grass Dancer dance regalia

I was quite honored this last summer to be hired to make a client his new dance regalia.

The jacket, front apron and pants.

The client let me use an old regalia he had and while he said I could take this one apart, I chose to make a paper pattern of it for later use.

I cut out the fabric pieces and by then the client had all the yarns tied and had all the ribbons ready for me to sew on. We met, he laid out the color scheme and I was on to the next steps.

First was the ribbons….

SO MUCH RIBBON!!

Lots of pinning and changing of threads!

I sent progress pictures to the client to make sure it was looking the way he had envisioned it before committing to the final steps.

I dig a project that takes over my studio!

The client put a lot of thought into his design and I was so happy to make it come together for him.
