3 dresses into 1

A cautionary and then success tale about buying a beautiful dress online for ONLY $12.00. Story told with client’s permission.

This is what she got.  She wisely bought a second one right away.

I took all three dresses apart.

Using every scrap of fabric available, I started to piece a new dress together.  She chose the longer of the sleeves I had sampled for her.

With an insert, the sleeves became much more dramatic and full.

Then to make her trim.  We started out with some ribbon and rhinestones she had.

I sewed the ribbon to a stabilizer and then carefully trimmed around the design for her waistband.  I also hand sewed the rhinestones on in a pattern that the bride had designed.

I used lots of fray check on the edges of the now cut off ribbon and made this into trim around the bottom hem of the dress and the sleeves.
